Do not apply the product:
On surfaces subject to negative pressure
At temperatures below 5°C and in adverse weather conditions involving rain or snow.
In thicknesses greater than 1 mm per coat.
On very dry and water-hungry surfaces (especially on hot days).
With no final ceramic tile protection.
Do not add cement, sand or other additives that affect the properties of the product. Only add water when applying with a sprayer.
These instructions are merely recommendations based on our experience. We recommend performing tests for each new type of application or surface to be treated.
For waterproofing terraces, balconies, roofs, outdoor roof decks and swimming pools due to be laid with ceramic tiles, as well as ponds, water tanks (not potable), irrigation channels, ceramic shower trays and substrates that are also due to be laid with ceramic tiles and have or may have micro-cracks.
Preparation of the surface
The surface prior to application of the product must be clean and firm. Remove oil stains, grease, paint, dust, release agents and wax. The substrate must be perfectly set. In hot weather or on very absorbent surfaces, wet the surface until saturated, removing excess water and puddles. It is recommended that Elasticband PR01_0875628080 be pre-applied in all the half rounds (corners and vertices), drains and expansion joints, to reinforce the most problematic areas.
Preparing the product
Pre-dosed product. The liquid component is poured into a clean container or into the container itself. The powder component is added slowly while being mixed with a stirrer or electric drill until a uniform, lump-free paste is obtained. Wait 2 minutes and re-mix briefly. If the product is applied with a spraying machine, add 1 litre of water per 20 kg.
Applying the product
The product should always be applied with a minimum of two layers of a maximum thickness of 1 mm per layer. Applied with flat metal trowel, spatula, roller, brush or spraying machine. After applying the first coat, let the product dry for around approximately 4 hours (at 20°C). The second coat should be applied perpendicular to the first. Always apply the product in a minimum of two coats when waterproofing with positive pressures of maximum 3 bar, such as swimming pools or tanks, and taking into account that more coats give more protection. It is therefore necessary to increase the number of coats when waterproofing under greater pressure (always ensure that the coat thickness does not exceed 1 mm.)
Applications with subsequent ceramic tile coating
Between 24 and 36 hours (at 20°C) after application of Elasticproof on terraces and swimming pools, the ceramic pieces must be glued with Masterkol Extra C2 T S1 glue cementPR01_5875100450, which complies with the adhesion regulations on waterproof sheets.
