Made of HSS/DM05 = High-yield, fine-tooth, polished, fast steel. The steam-treated surface allows for better absorption of the coolant, which prevents built-up edges (cold welding).
Application area
For treating low- or medium-strength iron and steel in slow machines (around 50 rpm) - Tooth pitch (t):
- 4 mm — for profiles and tubes with a wall thickness of 0.8–1.5 mm.
- 6 mm — for medium profiles, pipes and solid materials with a wall thickness or diameter of 1.5–20 mm.
- 8 mm — for resistant profiles and solid materials with a wall thickness or diameter of 15–around 50 mm.
- For cooling or lubrication, use Würth coolant at a mixture of 5:1.
For treating stainless steel and other high-strength materials (from 800 N/mm2 traction) on slow machines (around 10–20 rpm) — tooth pitch (t):
- 4 mm — for profiles and tubes with a wall thickness of 1.5-4 mm.
- 6 mm — for profiles, tubes and solid materials with a wall thickness or diameter of 4–around 50 mm.
- 8 mm — for extra-strong diameters and solid materials above 50 mm.
- For cooling or lubrication, use Würth coolant at a mixture of 7:1 for stainless steel and 8:1 for high-strength materials.
