Features
- A liquid product that, when applied to oxidised surfaces, is transformed into a film that passivates the oxide.
- Protector, passivator and rust converter for reinforcing steel rebars in repair work on concrete structures exposed to aggressive conditions.
- Protects against corrosion by chemical agents in the form of acids and bases on steel or iron surfaces.
- Primer for improved adhesion of epoxy- or polyurethane-based coatings on metal surfaces.
- Compliant with EN 1504-7. Compliant with Principle 11; Method 11.1 Active coating of the reinforcement and 11.2 Barrier coating of the reinforcement
Advantages
- 1-component product, ready to use.
- Water-based product, solvent-free.
- Outstanding adhesion on metal.
Benefits
Fast curing, speeds up repair work.
Do not add solvents, aggregates or any other unspecified material.
Observe the amount used and application thicknesses recommended per coat.
Drying times are measured at 20°C. Higher temperatures shorten these times and lower temperatures increase them.
The minimum and maximum ambient temperatures for application on the substrate are 5°C and 35°C.
These data are only recommendations based on our experience. Testing prior to use is recommended. For more information, see the product data sheet.
Preparing the substrate: the steel surface must be clean, free from dust, oil, grease, paint residue or other elements that may affect its adhesion. Treat the metal surface to remove rust using a wire brush, needle gun etc. up to St2 preparation grade.
Then clean the prepared surface with clean water and dry with a damp cloth.
Application and curing: shake the container before use to mix the product. Can be applied with a brush, gun or roller, or by immersion of the element to be treated. Apply two coats as a minimum with the second coat being applied after the first is dry (2-3 hrs. at 20°C). Take care not to stain the concrete. Structural repair mortars can be applied after 3-4 hrs. at 20°C. Can
be covered with epoxy or polyurethane coatings 24 hrs. after application.
