Strong corrosive acids or oxidants damage epoxy resins. In food contexts, the paint is not suitable for the interior of vinegar (acetic acid) storage tanks. The paint performs well after 72 hours of curing. Do not wet or wash until after this time. Do not subject paint to severe chemical-physical exposure until it has cured for at least one week. Short pot life when mixing component A and B. We recommend that you thoroughly prepare all surfaces to be painted and have everything prepared before mixing the two components. In cold, humid, poorly ventilated environments, pot life and drying can be prolonged.
The ambient temperature, the temperature of the base and the temperature of the paint must never be lower than +10°C or higher than 35°C, and the relative humidity must not exceed 70-75 %. The surface temperature of the base to be painted must always be at least 3°C above the dew point to avoid condensation, and preferably not exceed 30°C. If the appropriate environmental conditions for application and curing are not met, the conditions must be adjusted with air extraction and ventilation, either at room temperature, with cold or heat, with dehumidifiers etc., until the environmental conditions are appropriate and stable during application and curing. Always avoid generating condensation, as this stops the paint from curing properly. Pay special attention to tanks and confined spaces. Epoxy paint should not be exposed to water or surface condensation during the first 72 hours of curing or the paint may not cure properly, leading to the appearance of amine blushing. Do not leave more than 72 hours between applying coats. For food liquid deposits, the film is fully cured after 28 days for contact with food liquids. Initial cleaning with clear water is recommended before use. Paint suitable for pedestrian, cart and trolley traffic and the traffic of most moving parts with rubber wheels used in the food industry and elsewhere.
These instructions are merely recommendations based on our experience. We recommend performing tests for each new type of application or surface to be treated.
Datasheets(X)
Especially suitable for the food industry, health sector, hospitals, pharmaceutical industry, industrial use and surfaces with direct contact with food and beverages up to 40°C.
For continuous and occasional indirect contact, and general industrial use.
For indoor use on floors, baseboards, walls, ceilings, silos, vats, indoor food and beverage storage, drinking water, cold stores, food stores, storage and production areas.
We recommend storing and tempering the product before application at a temperature between 15 and 20ºC.
The surface must be clean, consistent, dry and free from rust, grease and dirt. To clean surfaces from oils and greases, use pollution cleaner Ag-46 (art. no. 0893585760) and to clean salty and mouldy surfaces, use selective cleaner (art. no. 0893585751).
Primers: Epoxy primer, 2-component (art. no. 0892 104 10x) for priming metals before painting. EVO anti-moisture primer, for sealing surfaces with residual moisture between 5 % and 14 %. Food grade solvent to add up to 5/10 % to paint and lower viscosity for better levelling on absorbent floors.
Preparing the base: On painted surfaces: the paint must be consistent according to the cross cut test per standard UNE EN ISO 2409:2007 (0 and 1). If it does not pass the test, prepare the surface with a slight sanding and then clean.
- Concrete, cementitious bases: allow the base to cure for 28 days, clean surface of dust and repair any damage to surfaces. Apply primer or solvent if the surface so requires.
- Metals: remove corrosion points and clean. Apply primer and allow to dry completely before painting.
- Wood: sand and clean. Allow to dry before painting.
- Gypsum, plasterboard surfaces: on consolidated surfaces, prime with Uniresin art. no. 0893210500. Allow to dry before painting.
Application: Mix components A and B (two identical canisters) stirring slowly. Whisk at low revolutions for at least 2 minutes and then leave to stand for 1 minute. A well-blended mixture is important to avoid stains or air bubbles. Apply with a short-hair microfibre roller. Use a spike roller to remove trapped air.
We recommend at least 2-3 coats for roofing and baseboards (medium-high amounts used), 3-4 coats for food and beverage warehouses (high-very high amounts used) and 2-3 coats for pavements (high-very high amounts used).
When finished, tools can be cleaned with universal solvent. Do not use water.
